Institute for Physical Therapy Advancement is a continuing education provider founded by a Physical Therapist with an enduring passion for education and professional advancement. IPRA offers specialty courses in musculoskeletal physical therapy and a clinical certification program in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT).
Our OMPT program was accepted by the Member or Organization of the International Federation of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physical Therapist (IFOMPT).
IPTA is s registered in the State of Florida USA as an individual proprietorship of Andrei Joseph Altavas and registered as a business entity in the Department of Trade & Industry Philippines as AJA Physical Therapy Advancement Seminars.
IPTA accredited Continuing Professional Development provider under the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Philippines and Florida Physical Therapy Association.


Our Vision and Mision
The Institute for Physical Therapy Advancement mission and vision is to advance the practice of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in Southeast Asia by providing a comprehensive range of continuing education courses for Physical Therapists. IPTA will serve the profession by promoting evidence-based practice, research, and clinical expertise which is the foundation of respected providers in healthcare.
Our Instructor
Instructors are clinical specialists in orthopedic/musculoskeletal rehabilitation with over 30 years of combined clinical experience. All instructors have completed post-graduate Certification and Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) with a passion for teaching and research. Most have Advanced Masters and clinical Doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy. All are Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) and Certified in OMPT. There is a wealth of diverse training from OMPT philosophical backgrounds that will ensure course participants gain the expertise using an eclectic approach to patient management and “hands-on” clinical skills in orthopedic manual therapy procedures.
President of IPTA
Andrei Altavas, Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy (DSc), specializes in Orthopedic Rehabilitation and has over 14 years of experience. He is a graduate of Andrews University, credentialed by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). He is also certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy by the McKenzie Institute of America.
